Our story

The mark you carry.

In the East, authority was never a signature. It was a seal: small, carried on the body, pressed once at the moment that mattered. We make stone bracelets the way seals were made. To one wrist. Under one number. Kept for life.

An empty room at dawn: a long table, a glass of water, a closed pen.
A jade seal, a strand of obsidian beads and a small polished obsidian mirror on a black lacquer tray.

I

The seal

For two thousand years the East ran on seals. A minister wore his at the belt. A merchant pressed his onto a contract. A painter set a small red one in the corner of a finished work, and the work was finished because of it. The seal was never large and never displayed. It was carried, and it was pressed at the moment that mattered.

Tradition adds a second meaning. In the old reckoning of a life, the Seal is also the star of patrons and protection: what stands behind a person when they step forward. We record the tradition; we do not add to it.

We took the seal as our model. One piece, one owner, one mark.

The name

Ordanne · 定章

Ordanne comes from ordo, the Latin root of order and of ordain: a thing set down, and settled. 定章 says the same in two characters. 定 is settled; 章 is the seal. Together they name what a seal does at the moment it is pressed: it ends the deliberation and begins the record.

The house has no other emblem. The name is its seal, and it is pressed once, on the inside of the wrist.

Why stone

Long before anyone wrote about presence, the people who held authority kept stones close. Obsidian was polished into mirrors, not to admire oneself but to see what was really in the room. Tiger eye travelled the long roads against the envy of strangers. Beads were counted under the table during difficult audiences, one turn per breath, until the hand was steady.

None of it was decoration. It was a private ritual for public hours. We think it still works, in the only way that matters: the hand finds the stone, the breath slows, the room gets a little quieter.

III

What we make

Bracelets and long strands of natural stone and wood, strung by hand to the wrist that ordered them. Bead diameters from 4 to 16 mm. Stretch cord, hand-knotted cord or a toggle clasp. Metal parts antique-finished so they read as old rather than new.

Every stone is looked at under three lights: morning, dusk, desk lamp. A bead that only performs in one of them is set aside. Most of what we see is ordinary, and we let it pass. Some material arrives in quantities that will never repeat; those pieces are numbered, and the number retires with the batch.

In every circle, one bead is the house's seal: a small antique-finished barrel engraved with the atelier number, turned to sit against the inside of the wrist, where only the wearer sees it. On bespoke pieces it carries a single character of your choosing.

Five collections

An older way of naming what a person needs when the stakes are high. Every piece belongs to one.

定 · Composure. Black obsidian, onyx, black spinel. The ground; the part of the circle that does not move.

明 · Clarity. Silver obsidian, clear quartz, crackle agate, grey moonstone. Stones with light inside them.

势 · Command. Tiger eye with antique gold. The stone that waits, then moves.

守 · Guard. Smoky quartz, hematite, black agate. Not to attract, but to keep.

续 · Continuity. Sandalwood, ebony, aventurine. Wood that takes on the hand that wears it.

Tradition holds a great deal about each stone. The stone library tells you what it holds, and no more.

How it reaches you

Nothing is strung ahead. We confirm your wrist size, choose the bead count, set the cord. The piece then rests one night in a sealed box beside selenite, an old habit for stones that have passed through many hands. We keep it because it costs nothing and changes how a piece is received.

It is sealed in the morning, entered in the ledger under its number, and dispatched in three to seven days. Cord and closure are restrung by the house for life. Thirty days to return.

VI

Who wears it

The person who signs last. The one who takes the 5 a.m. call across three time zones and sounds, somehow, rested. The one who has learned that the pause before an answer is part of the answer. They wear one piece, usually the same one, and they can tell you the day they started.

What we do not claim

We do not sell luck. Tradition holds many things about these stones; we tell you what it holds and leave the rest to you. The objects are made for private practice and personal meaning. They are not medical devices and they promise no outcome.

One piece, one owner, one mark.
