Command
The hunter's stone: it waits, then it moves.

Command is not volume. The people who have it rarely raise their voice, because they have learned that momentum belongs to whoever moves second, and moves once. The discipline is patience with a direction.
Tiger eye is its stone, and it is the only stone in the house that is allowed to be warm. Against the black ground of everything else we make, a band of gold moving under the light is a deliberate signal. The wearer has decided to be seen.
The old source
Tiger eye in the markets
On the long trade roads the stone was worn openly, on the hand that counted coin. Tradition held that it drew fortune, and held it: the first for the merchant, the second against the eyes of strangers. A band of light that moves when the wrist turns was said to be the eye of the hunter, watching, unhurried.
It waits, then it moves. That is the whole of the old teaching, and it is why we set it with barrels of engraved antique gold. A seal has weight. A seal does not need to be explained.
Black agate and smoky quartz sit beside it in this discipline, in the old pairing: the stones that hold the momentum in place once it has been gathered.
The stones
“Momentum belongs to whoever moves second, and moves once.”
The wearing
Seen across the table
A Command piece is the one worn on the outside of the cuff, on the hand that signs. It is worn on the days that are for signing, and on the days before them. In between, many of our wearers keep it in its box and wear a Composure circle instead, and put the tiger eye back on the morning of.
That is the correct use. A signal that is always on is not a signal.
